There’s definitely praised films I don’t like but I usually have a reason why, this has got me questioning where tf the praise even comes from. Just did not connect with this. Mingiu is undeniably a skilled filmmaker, there’s times where this is a genuinely compelling moral dilemma. But boy is this a nothing burger, doesn’t take a stance, doesn’t dig deep into any of the ideas it presents, I try not to critique movies on the things they’re not doing but it’s pretty hard to ignore with this. Such an underwhelming final act.
