I watched the 2006 production, but sadly it’s not on letterboxd. I watched this musical for the first time a few years ago and found it incredibly emotionally gripping. I watch it again these many years later, and now I relate as well. Not just to Robert, but to others like Amy, Joanne, or the one winged butterfly. A beautifully done musical that will forever stand the test of time.

If this was the only filmed version of company it would easily be a 5 stars but unfortunately I have a feeling that the other two are better solely for the reason that they’re full productions although this is so excellent for this kind of thing and also probably the funniest company
Neil Patrick Harris is such a goat and I’m a huge fan of the fact that all of Side by Side by Side is just him doing magic tricks. I checked out his autobiography from the library a year ago solely to read about company and assassins and I have not returned it yet
“Should there be a marital squabble, available bob’ll be there with the glue” is such a bar and so is rhyming personable with coercin’ a bull

company is an amazing show and this is a fine production of it. while the 2006 version nearly brought me to tears, this one just left me feeling like “eh it’s alright.” the characters feel completely different, which isn’t a bad thing, but I prefer the other interpretations. overall, while it isn’t bad by any means, this is the weakest production of company i’ve seen. (also april deserved better 😔)
