look don't get me wrong. I
hate military movies, because they always end but glorifying the army and turning the film into some sort of propaganda
BUT
this movie, first of all, is not so much into that and does criticizes the army. there's a beautiful message of unity and peace that gives the movie a true depth in that sense. yes, it does make a somewhat positive portrait of the military, the stance being "it's good but we really do acknowledge that there's bad people in it". and honestly it's better than nothing I guess. and second... it's the best thing EVER. I loved so much omg, everything is perfect. farah khan and srk deserve the world for this masterpiece I swear. this is genuinely one of the funniest movies i've seen, heartwarming, absurd and unserious in the best way possible, because it's so well done and hilarious from start to finish, and STILL with emotional and touching moments. like... come ON.
and omg at first I was SO SCARED that ram's love interest would be sanju, I was prayinnnngg and when I saw the teacher come in I swear I heard the violins myself. and ram/sanju friendship is honestly healing atp. I SOBBED when she talked about her father and lucky, and wdym ram just went

I see you. I hear you. the song tumse milke dil ka is my new anthem. and omg I'm repeating myself but this movie just adds so many things that are HILARIOUS. the guy knocking at lucky's book in the library. how srk fucking fell down horizontally after being shot. just the downright disregard for gravity. I LOVE IT.
can I just add end credits by farah khan. this is art. honestly I've never seen (or don't remember) other directors credit their whole crew like this I think it's the most beautiful thing you can do, because they worked just as hard as the people on screen to make this movie alive. so heartwarming.
