Two siblings, Ali and Zahra, who agreed to keep the matter of Zahra's missing shoes a secret, which Ali had brought in for repair. To solve the problem, they decided to share Ali's worn-out shoes. Zahra would wear them in the morning during her school schedule, and after returning home, she would run as fast as she could so Ali could wear them to school in the afternoon. New hope emerged when Ali learned of an inter-school running competition with a prize of a pair of shoes for the third-place winner. Ali signed up, determined to win the competition so he could buy Zahra new shoes.

idk, belom pernah nonton originalnya.. tp filmnya di aku kurang kena, menurutku banyak plot holenya... walaupun dri kondisinya mereka sangatt iba, dan melokal banget.. eksekusinya kurang aja kataku

Sebagai sebuah film adaptasi ini oke banget lho itungannya, sangat menghargai source aslinya dengan menyesuaikan beberapa aspek dgn budaya lokal indon supaya lebih membumi n relateable, which is oke sangat. Kalau the og Children of Heaven taste nya lebih 'festival', adaptasi indon ini emg lebih komersil n dramanya nge-drama bgt wkwkwk. Cuma mungkin yg gw rada kurang sreg, adaptasi indon ini menurut gw intended to be tear-jerker gtu, kayak gw tu dipaksa buat nangis, yg mana rasanya justru jadi kurang nyampe kek jangan paksa gw jir wkwkwkw. Tapi di satu sisi, mnurut gw ini cerdas juga sih karena tandanya hanung emg jago membaca pasar, mengingat audience indon bosenan ya orgnya, kalo gak dikasih scene-scene sedih yg di dramatisir dgn tambahan scoring biola or piano menyayat hati pasti penonton bakalan bosen. Tergantung selera masing-masing sih ya sebenernya. If u looking for a film yg lebih ke slice of life gtu, the og Children of Heaven is the answer, tapi klo emg mau yg lebih nge-drama bgt, adaptasi indon ini pilihan yg oke. However still, this is a good movie adaptation, prolly also has a big chance for citra nomination this year.

mengharukan sih, and yeah ngl i kinda loved this. but it's not hit like the original... adaptasi nya dibuat lebih fun, fokus ke unsur komedi jadi vibes nya lebih ringan. but yeah i laughed at the several jokes sih. still super emotional though 😭 jared and humaira jahra’s acting was so good. overall this is not perfect but still worth watching. hanung adapted & executed the film pretty well!
