such a beautiful, unsettling & sad movie at the same time. 

The creature design is beautiful, done with so much care. The faun had so many little details to him. 

i never expected it to be a fantasy kids movie, but also didn’t expect how heavy the plot was.

Holy shit. So I went into this totally blind. I’d seen the Faun but I had no idea that the whole movie was in Spanish. I learned that that was because nobody in the States would fund it. I’m really glad a movie like this is a thing tho. Another thing I had no idea about was all the fascists. Damn did Del Toro create some scary ass nazis. The story really goes to some dark places and I really respected Del Toro for that. The crazy production design and make up on the sets and costumes was so impressive. Del Toro has one of those minds where he can take shit from his mind and put but on film. I’m excited to watch Nightmare Alley on Tuesday

i remember watching this film as a kid and being so mesmerised by it. Pan’s Labyrinth is so dark & tragic yet so beautiful. It shows how cold and cruel the real world is & the brutality of war & oppression while also showing the beauty of a fantasy world and the power of imagination. the ending brings me to tears every time. A beautiful & dark fairy tale and forever one of my favourite films by Guillermo del Toro**.
