A simple story about a girl’s struggles to get a pair of shoes she likes. I do think the film nicely brings the theme of class segregation and the strives someone must face just to survive. This has some cool editing and manages to move me at the end, but overall: nothing much.

I realized through my stats that I had never watched a film from the 1910s, and I had to fix that immediately. This was my first 1910s film, and I’m glad it was a Lois Weber one, I definitely want to watch more of her films. I also never thought I’d cry at a silent movie until today. It was so sad, it broke my heart.
