Takada, a Japanese fisherman has been estranged from his son for many years, but when the son is diagnosed with terminal cancer his daughter-in-law, Rie, summons him to the hospital. Through a series of obstacles and relationships, he is brought unexpectedly closer to both an understanding of himself and of his son.

Charming little movie. Zhang Yimou returns to a more simple movie with a look similar to Not one less. Obviously it still looks good, just not as colorful.
The story is simple, but effective and compelling. It feels a bit long a points and is far from some of the best Zhang Yimou has made, but non the less a neat little movie made between some of his biggest movies
