Poolhall Junkies

This is so raunchy and so fucking funny this is such a hidden gem. I absolutely had a blast watching this and from the start to the beginning it hooks you and the way it changes style. It’s something you randomly come across and love so much. Some of the scene will have you laughing and some of them will have you locked in. It’s an amazing watch and something I’ll recommend to anyone. I will say this though, the dialogue sounds like if tarotino try to make a pool movie and say the n word in the first 30 minutes. The dialogue at times fucking sucked. The pacing seemed too slow or fast in certain parts and it seems like at times it try’s to be a try hard version of good will hunting. 

There’s so much mashed into this I loved but also I hated. It’s a fun watch certainly but at times it feels like it’s just “fuck that and shit” and goes too deep into that film student want to be edgy type of thing. It’s such such an amazing find and fun to watch but at times it leans to that.

Okay so sure the acting isn’t great/downright cringey at times (even from veterans like Chaz and Walken). And sure the dialogue feels like it thinks it’s more clever than it is. Sure this movie is a little clunky when viewing it through 2024 goggles. But damn it if this movie isn’t a token of my childhood that I will continue to have fond memories of well into the future. It’s almost makes you wonder what Mars Callahan would have done had he had a more fruitful film career. 

I will say, one major strength, it’s makes playing pool look fuckin SICK. Immediately, I wanted to go play pool after rewatching this.
