One of the best documentaries I've ever seen. It truly covers the most tumultuous and problematic production in Hollywood history. There's a sense of sadness to it when you find that the directors and everyone who worked on this film hoped it would be this critical success. And when you do see it yourself you think omg this film has so much potential. It was interesting to hear the background. The onset drama with Elizabeth, as she almost died and her somewhat iconic affair with Richard Burton became one of the world's most publicised and sensational love affairs and news stories. And like the grandness of the film is often discussed. I will rewatch the film sometime soon so there will be a review about that film. I do kinda hope one day the 6 hour version will appear because as someone who has (somewhat) been a fan of the film it does lack something that substance that should have made it one of the finest films of the old Hollywood era. So crazy to think that this film would probably cost like $500 million today! It's insane! It looks it too!
