"Now I have repaid any debt I may have owed you. You know all that I know. My voice is the only proof that you will have of the truth of any of this. I might have written a letter with my signature, but my handwriting is not what it used to be. Maybe you've had the presence of mind to record this. That's your prerogative. You will not be contacted by me again. And if you look... you will not find me."
Mind-bending, Experimental, Complex-Scifi, Lo-fi, and low-budget. Film about time with nothing to expect, but it's clearly blew my mind since first viewing.
Shane Carruth, as the lead actor/writer/director/score/producer, this guy is one of a kind, with the masterpiece debut film. Primer, actually is an attempt to examine, in depth, the philosophical issues in chaos theory and how discoveries are inseparable with human weaknesses, both mental and physical. Even though the title said Sci-fi film, but actually it's just about these two guys, and how it affects them individually, and their relationship with one another.
From tinkering with tools to tinkering with people, from greed to gluttony. For some this film maybe little confusing that needed second viewing to fully understand, but in my opinion you don't need to fully entirely understand. This film are supposed to be confusing, confuse as the timeline crushed, like Aaron and Abe in the world where they have the double themself, the conflict they caused.
Would be love to see this film become a series instead of film. This are probably my favorite film tagline in past month and actually could affect my personality:
"If you always want what you can't have, what do you want when you can have anything?."
If you need an explain for the timeline Primer has, i recommend watch this 6 min yt video
