After a cavalry group is massacred by the Cheyenne, only two survivors remain: Honus, a naive private devoted to his duty, and Cresta, a young woman who had lived with the Cheyenne two years and whose sympathies lie more with them than with the US government. Together, they must try to reach the cavalry's main base camp. As they travel onward, Honus is torn between his growing affection for Cresta.

A inconsistent tone & boring mess of a movie that’s saved by its 2 main leads & a brief appearance by Donald Pleasance. The horrifying brutal nature of the final 10 minutes is worth a watch but outside of that there isn’t many positive things

Our teacher only showed us the ending carnage so needless to say I was surprised to see that the main part of the film is actually a cute and goofy love story between a man and woman opposed by their values. I went on with it pretty easily and their formed relationship was truly charming, there is a childish tone attached to it that really can not prepare you for that sordid final act that actually depicts the harsh reality. And damn the credits rolling in silence with all the crosses speaks volume.
