❝Hey lady! I've seen the highborn boys your type hangs out with. I'm the only man you've ever met.❞

If the person who uploaded this film onto YouTube back in 2012 is reading this, God bless you and I hope your pillow is always cold, because it blew my sister and I away then, and remains a favourite of mine now.
Sinbad is a criminally underrated masterpiece. I've genuinely never met anyone in real life who's watched it, and there are so few people online (or at least on TikTok) who've heard about it.
I'll be honest, Brad Pitt always just sounds like himself, but it's easy to get over it because Sinbad has so much personality. In fact, all of the characters do. The script is so well-written and full of witty zingers, and pretty good character development; I do wish we got to see more interactions between Sinbad and Proteus though. The voice-acting all in all is excellent (Michelle Pfeiffer was perfect as Eris), and I absolutely love the different obstacles Eris sends them. My favourites are definitely the Sirens; that whole sequence is absolutely action-packed and it's the first time we get to see just how adept Marina is at sailing. The score is so epic too, it's exactly the kind of music you'd picture when you hear the word 'pirates' (thank you Harry Gregson-Williams 🙏).
What I love most is the hybrid animation. As far as I know Sinbad is the last DreamWorks film to use traditional hand-drawn 2D animation, which absolutely sucks because despite how difficult it is to use, 2D is much more beautiful than 3D. But I digress. The mix of animation in this film highlights how unearthly Eris' monsters are, and also adds a layer of fun while watching Sinbad and the crew battle them.
If you haven't seen Sinbad, drop everything you're doing right now and watch it immediately. I guarantee you won't regret it.
