Oooo what a freaky film. With a great cast!! Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton from Reanimator star in another H.P. lovecraft adaptation with Ken Foree from Dawn Of The Dead. The film pretty much opens swinging and keeps a fast pace until like maybe the last 20 minutes where it kinda slows down a bit. But the effects look really great and gross and the sound design did way too good of a job. Actors were great, the script was great. It's a loose adaptation but it keeps the idea of the original story (the machine that influences the pineal gland) and expands on it. Adding body horror and new characters. Since the original story was only like seven pages long. It's a good film and I can't believe it's taken me so long to watch it despite being a fan of these actors and of Re-animator.
