Really more of a mishmash of assorted behind-the-scenes featurettes than an actual making-of documentary, but hey, I had fun! Shot between pre-production on The Matrix in 1998, all the way to pre-production on Reloaded and Revolutions in 2001, this 2-hour bonus film features interviews with Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving, as well as the directors, the costuming head, assorted producers and stunt crew. I think I was most impressed by just how hard and how long the core four had to train for to get camera-ready for their action scenes — that choreography was no joke!
Definitely not the most polished thing in the world, but if you’re hungry for info about how The Matrix came together, this will definitely fill that craving.
