Wow, I was very surprised how excellent this movie was. Its essentially about a journalist who doesn't want to out her source and has to deal with the ramifications because of it. Even though its a political thriller, it really tears at the heart strings. I'm surprised this movie wasn't more popular when it came out.
You should mostly see this movie because how important it is to show how essential journalist integrity is, and fighting for what's right despite hardships it brings. This movie is a emotional roller coaster of everything Kate beckinsales character Rachel Armstrong went through in the movie.
Which brings me to how amazing Kate Beckinsale was in the movie. Easily the best performance I've seen of hers. She keeps you invested throughout. Also a great cast in general: Matt Dillon, David Schwimmer, Vera Farmiga, Angela Basset, Noah Lyle, Alan Alda and much more. I also will point out that Alda was terrific as the lawyer, you believed how much he cared for what he was doing. Also Matt Dillon was great playing this attorney that felt so heartless even if he was doing his job. Fuck it shout out to Vera also, so commanding in this role, true badass. The actors as a whole nailed there roles.
In the end, treat yourself it will surprise you!
