I really connected to this movie on an emotional level as a dancer of 10 years and yes I cried

as a competition dancer, i thought it was spot on for the first half, and then felt a bit cheesy toward the end with the solo. overall though, it was a super sweet film with amazing actors and i thought it did a great job of capturing loss which can be very hard to do! throughout the movie i felt like the dynamic between the father and daughter was really accurate giving she hadn’t seen him in a while, to the realizing she is his daughter in real life!! they had such good connection toward the end as well and i enjoyed the movie!

The last few minutes saved it for me, I just wished they explored grief and loss as the whole story and not add all the typical elements (like the Marla storyline) this film did not need a “mean girl”. At moments it felt like two completely different films happening at once.

Such an emotional film, definitely the best cinematography of the year. It's able to balance comedy, drama, and emotion so well, everyone in my theater was crying by the time it was over.
