Lee J. Cobb is on another level here—just a total acting clinic. The middle drags quite a bit and the ending wasn't really that satisfying, but it wound up OK in the end. Gary Cooper is cool, but Cobb is the whole show.

A decent western with good plot development and pacing. Lee Cobb acting performance in this was amazing. He played his part excellent. This just wasn’t my cup of tea western. Very dramatic. Very dramatic films are not my style. Probably a really good movie and deserving of higher rating, but my taste buds just affect my rating.
