love love LOVE bob hoskins in this. i love any sort of gangster movie at the best of times but i loved every second of this from start to finish. not to mention the film’s score, it’s one i will hold close to my heart from now on i think.
i was hooked because of the outstanding performance from hoskins. i strongly believe this is one of the, if not, the best british gangster movie ever made.
the final scenes were actually sublime, the camera being panned on just hoskin’s face of realisation is enough for this film to be high on my list. absolutely fascinating.
