Enthiran was the first film I remember watching in cinemas, though I didn't completely understand what was going on then. On rewatch after so many years it's unfortunately lost a lot of its charm for me, but I can see why so many people loved and continue to love it; if there's one thing Shankar knows how to do, it's making an entertaining film. The actual story isn't really anything new, what with A.I gone rogue having been done before this in Hollywood, but the writing partly makes up for it. Rajinikanth is the heart and soul of the film in the dual role of Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti, and while he's not the best actor out there, his charisma elevates his performance – from the rest of the cast, however, there wasn't any particularly noteworthy acting. The CGI is kinda atrocious, which always spoils a film for me, especially since better special effects exists, but it is what it is, I guess. Overall, not a film I'd choose to come back to, but one that's fun to meme regardless.
