I'm not really frightened of anything anymore.
**It's sickening. It's disturbing. It's destructive. But most of all, it's beautiful.

I don't know why this has a low rating, this is a work of art. The rot beneath the surface and the disturbing imagery. Yes, it may not be visually colorful and appealing. I mean, who'd want to watch a movie with incest, *again.

I am sooooo sick and tired of hearing people say the same thing on why they hate this movie: it's because it's weird. It's fucking weird, it is! But that's the whole fucking point! Movies aren't always made to please your eyes who wants see themes that doesn't go against your morals. It sometimes fucks up with your head and your beliefs and you know just from that — the film did its job. Oh my fucking godddddd.
This movie is about how death can destroy a household and make it rot. We get to see how dysfunctional Jack's family was even before a major death happened that shook the entire narrative which made the predicament of the children worse. After that major point, we now get to see the aftermath. Piled up dishes with flies buzzing around. Jack is having an existential and sexuality crisis. The house is beginning to be haunted by secrets. And a
specific
someone who tries to uncover those secrets.
The ending was TRULY, and I mean poetically,
beautiful. I was never bored while watching this. I get to appreciate every dialogue and every second of it. The rural setting. The 20th century. Children in distress. Rot. Decay. Everything in this film is art.
