Grew up on these streets, was there on this day and now deliver the mail on Kenmure St as well as to various people featured. Being from the Shields is integral to who I am and the world needs to know what we're about.

right before the film started my friend pointed to kate dickie and told me he dmed her 4 years ago from our shared account asking her to publicly endorse a free the pee protest we started in high school (for some reason our head teacher just decided one day that no one was allowed to piss during school hours) but that she never responded to us and after a can of complementary white wine this seemed like the funniest thing on the planet and i could not stop laughing which felt a bit inappropriate given the subject matter. also really amused by the concept of nanny mcphee being under a van in the southside of glasgow

Laws are put in place to protect communities. But sometimes, communities know what’s best for their people. This film highlights collective action can lead to change, and it makes me hopeful.
