You know what, John Candy being my most watched actor in 2026 doesn't sound like a bad idea.Over the past few days, I've begun to appreciate this man, and this documentary truly captured the appreciation, the appeal, and the negative aspects of his life. They were able to balance the mourning of his passing with a grand appreciation of his talent that made the movie flow. No part felt too long, and no part ever felt too short. The editing was solid too, building up these ideas into a nice little crescendo and decrescendo. Some aspects annoyed me, such as the obnoxious music (I notice this is something I complain the most about in documentaries), as it becomes distracting, not allowing the interviews or events to take precedence over our emotions. Parts of it felt overly manipulative and cheesy; the thoughtful interviews should have been the crux of the emotional depth of this documentary. Some parts of this also reminded me of an Investigation Discovery episode, which wasn't distracting at all. Otherwise, this is a pretty emotionally impactful documentary that captures the life and legacy of a man with understanding and love.
