A significant number of American children and teenagers - from all social backgrounds - suffer from mental disorders, schizophrenia, autism and emotional problems, leading them to isolation from society while treating their issues in mental health facilities. But there's no end in sight for those young individuals when they face obstacles and mistreatment in inadequate places under the supervision of careless and inexperienced professionals. The documentary follows some of those public mental institutions and another private center dealing with troubled kids and reveals what's wrong with their procedures, and the irreparable harm they cause in those patients.

now see things like this documentary are the type of stuff that i find very interesting to sit and watch mainly because im someone who is very into that whole psychology aspect of things and just seeing and learning on the behaviors of these individuals and what tends to set them off and i loved how the person narratoring everything went into things and us learning about each of these individuals and what they suffer from but also telling us about what goes on in all these different places for said individuals and when looking at each of them you can tell how draining this is for them and how much pain they tend to be in not physically but rather emotionally and how they’re at a constant battle with themselves and it’s saddening to know that for these caregivers to calm them down they have to drug these children and it often gets to a point where these kids are so drugged out because of all the medication they’re put on and it often at times leads to them turning into these “zombies” and does take a toll on them and their well being but moving onto the stories of all these kids and learning about how so many of them were just dumped off there by their own parents because they simply couldn’t take it anymore or just didn’t want to be associated with a child like that is so upsetting because all these children needed was some love or to feel like their loved and cared about by the very individuals who are supposed to be that support system for you and then seeing how awful these sorts of places treated these children as well was even more heartbreaking because instead of loving and helping these kids they were doing the exact opposite and instead were neglecting them and putting them though these horrific acts like the last place that was mentioned in this documentary and how 3 individuals had died in just the span by 1 year from all of them was just terrible because instead of doing these jobs that they went into they were refusing to even take care of these kids and instead went to putting them on all drugs which then led to each of their deaths but that’s not even the worse part because there still went onto be many more deaths after the 3 and even after all of this backlash that the place was getting they refuse to take any accountability for their actions or even talk to anyone about the things that went on in that place and wouldn’t filming because they knew that what going on in there wasn’t anything to pleasant which i’m not sure how they weren’t shut down after having so many deaths occur that very place which is absolutely insane to me but the last thing i’d like to say is that i love how they did give us updates on the kids that were shown in the documentary and what went onto be of their lives and i did love hearing all the positive things about each of them because that’s all these poor kids wanted was to live ordinary lives outside of these places and i hope that each of them lived those joyous lives years later until they eventually passed ♡
