So, There’s an unexplained, unresolved hit-man plot that in no way connects to anything else in the movie. An adoption plot that is rushed at the very end to wrap it all up. A friend of the main character who serves no purpose and has a shocking amount of screen time. But Paul Dano is in it so it’s not all bad.
I found myself checking how much time was left every 5 minutes, I’m not sure why I didn’t just stop watching but I do love Zooey and Paul so that’s probably why. I feel like they did an awful job writing Zooeys character, Harriet, she’s cute and flirty and whimsical but she falls so flat, the plot with her mom felt like a shallow grasp at real depth?
Also what does the title mean? Like how does it tie in ???
