ermmm ok let’s start with what I did like about this: 
-the makeup/SFX 
-the soundtrack was literally banger after banger I knowww they got some Stephen King money to get those rights
-the snakes
-the concept? I guess? People’s reviews keep hyping up the book even if they didn’t like the movie so maybe I’ll read it. 
-got more enjoyable as Ig got more evil lmao

what I didn’t like:
-basically everything else unfortunately. I thought most of the acting was cringe, the script was either really weird and clearly just for shock value or super flat and shallow. 
-VERY blatant Madonna/whore dichotomy with the women in this (yeah I know it’s bc of the biblical stuff but still) 
-Daniel Radcliffe’s American accent omg I'm sorry I thought I’d eventually get used to it but NOOO
-Super predictable, as soon as he couldn’t see the horns (like 40 min in) I knew it was his friend/lawyer. Had my suspicions before that from the whole bit of when they were kids once I connected who the adult counterparts were. 
-idk it just wasn’t holding my attention either, I watched half one day and half today and even then it felt lonnnggg and I was kinda wishing there was a way to put it on 2x speed

Fun premise and the dark humor worked well on me, I liked the needledrops and the way the film looked dreamy. It also gets pretty crazy but l feel that so much was unexplained and rushed, I was hoping for a more gruesome final act considering what the guy did and Merrin's character sadly felt underbaked—the subject matter was definitely not handled well with how tonally all over the place it was. For all it's flaws though I wasn't bored at all, Daniel Radcliffe's performance was quite fun and I was entertained with the majority of it but unfortunately the third act falls flat
