Something for Everyone walked slowly and queerly through post war Austria so Saltburn could run and prance to Sophie Ellis-Bexter through Oxford in the early 2000s. the gays are always winning.

(but the ending! wtf! isn't she like 16!)

RIP Angela Lansbury, one of the greatest there ever was.

I am SHOCKED I had never heard of this fantastic film. It clearly had huge influence on Call Me By Your Name and there are some shots that were poached directly. Michael York being a bisexual deviant is, like, one of the hottest things in film history? Bavarian castles are such a fun place to set a story. Lansbury is weird casting but she's having a good time. There's a fresh twist every 10 mins to keep it interesting and I was expecting a violent/tragic climax and then it just goes full goofy comedy and I realised the whole thing had been pitched at a different tone to how I thought. Just a fascinating film I want to read a lot about and dig deeper into York's oeuvre now.
