FBI agent Max Reed witnesses Dr. Tetsu Segawa - a researcher for the mysterious Chronos Corporation - being murdered. Dr. Segawa had stolen an alien device known as "The Guyver" from Chronos. College student Sean Barker, whose girlfriend's father was Dr. Segawa, finds the Guyver's hiding spot while watching the forensic team investigating the crime scene.

Honestly, I thought there was gonna be like a lot more charming elements to this, but, there just isn’t.

Direction and action is bland, acting is bland, and holy fuck, is the only redeeming thing about this the costume design? I guess?

I just, wow. I really thought it was gonna be like, a hidden gem type of movie, but it’s not.

Yeah I had a lot of fun with this one. Yuzna pretty much producing an R rated Power Rangers (yes a few years before the show actually premiered, so maybe more like Super Sentai). Along with a Reanimator reunion (Combs’ character is even called Dr. East lol) and Jimmy Walker playing a weird Gremlin like creature, this might be a new favorite!
