editing my review here because this movie has been on my mind I think what disappointed me the most here is i genuinely want to see an ed horror movie so bad especially considering body horror I want a movie so grotesque it makes people completely aware of how eating disorders truly are i'm tired of the romanticism of these life threatening disorders and with social media anorexia and bulimia have been heavily encouraged on younger and younger people. I saw a tiktok where someone wrote "girls get really good at making a dead thing look alive....... you can cover your body in flowers and lace but dead is dead and animals will always smell it" it reminded me of this movie and what i wanted from it something disturbingly beautiful i guess that is able to make people more aware and see the signs. It's so easy to ignore some one dying in front of you that's the problem with eating disorders sometimes they look desirable you think of the discipline someone must have. I mean the fact in severe cases of anorexia the brain has literally been shrunk in half due because the lack of food in the body it started to eat itself. I think they ending they attempted to do this with the close ups of blackened teeth but it doesn't land because the rest of the movie attempts to make you horrified due to satanic rituals and such which shouldn't be the focus in my opinion also the name is fucking terrible and to on the nose subtlety is key. I need to see a super artsy cinematic movie where you see how eds get worse overtime with extreme body horror and accurate representation but this was not it at all
