I have always believed that Chomón has always been in the shadow of Melies and it is sad since he was a great film director, although he did manage to make a crude copy of Melies' Le Voyage dans la Lune. This short film should have more recognition because of all the effort that went into it and how innovative it must have been. The scene in reverse is one of the best scenes I have seen in cinema from that era.
Another thing I want to say is that here I notice a lot that cinema was in search of its identity, since here we see something more theatrical and still we can see the montage (which clearly was not the best at that time) but which makes the Cinema is so different from other arts.
75/100
