My first film from Bresson’s filmography, I’m starting to notice the minimalism and the symbolism by hand gestures. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work

Le lieutenant Fontaine: Do you believe in luck?
François Jost: I used to. It didn't work out.
Le lieutenant Fontaine: Maybe you're the one who blew it.

One of the most tense endings I’ve seen in a long time, I seriously thought that Jost would rat Fontaine out when they crawled along the rope in the end there… imo it would be better if it was deeper

It was really moving to see the way they risked themselves for each other. As much as it’s a story about a guy, it’s also about people helping people.
