I am astounded at the lengths Matthew McConaughey went to for this role. Absolute knock out acting from him and Jared Leto here. I really can’t say enough about this movie. This is a bad mfer. The environment is so accurate for the time, back when having HIV/AIDS was pretty much a death sentence. You could tell when the two doctors broke the news to Ron, that they shared that exact news to several other people that day. At that point it was becoming such a routine that they were still laughing and having small talk as they entered the room. I would feel so betrayed by the vibe entering the room, because it certainly doesn’t indicate that I was going to be told I only had 30 days to live. Overall this film was fantastic, I regret waiting so long to see this. “ Look at me. What do you see? Huh? A goddamn rodeo is what you see” tremendously delivered line.
