The first Revivalists event. This is an LA based revival movie club where we go see movies around town together and chat about it and meet new people. For the first event it was a success with all friends. We saw this secret 16mm triple feature, and all the movies were a success.
This was the first one, I’ve heard of the TV show, but this was badass. I’d definitely check out more. Kind of like the X files except from the perspective of a journalist. It had the same type of conspiracy sweeping under the rug as many other paranoid movies of the 70s, and the subject of this supernatural inquiry is a vampire. The kill scenes were spooky, loved how they used shadows, but pretty stylistically simple, even a bit sloppy with booms dropping into the shot. You have an all star cast of noir supporting characters that fill out the cast. Great first movie and my favorite of the bunch.
