10/100
I don’t know if this came before or after, but it is literally just the same thing as Grandma’s Reading Glasses, just in a different coat and pretending it’s something new. Instead of a boy snooping with spectacles, it’s an old man perving through a telescope. That’s the whole change. The structure, the editing, the cinematic failings, they’re all recycled beat for beat.
We open with an old man watching a young couple in the street. He lifts the telescope. We cut to an insert shot, tight framing to show what he sees: the man tying the woman’s shoelace and revealing her ankle. The old man leers, gets caught, and the younger man scolds him. End.
It’s literally the exact same structure as Grandma’s Reading Glasses: 1. Viewer character 2. Insert shots as POV 3. Last shot = interruption
Bad remake.
