I think I kind of prefer the edit of this film to the episodic edit of the standard anime. The scenes where the animation is approved look nice, there are some moments where it is noticeable that there is missing stuff, but the pacing does feel a lot closer to how I feel the manga felt. Though I can see why some might like to have some of the supplemental stuff that the show included for the vibes and style points.
