cannot believe i fucking found this movie after years of barely remembering it but. in fourth grade my school got let out for an entire week due to a really bad snowstorm and we had to make up a week at the end of the year. the teachers had no lesson plans so they pulled out vhs tapes that have likely never been seen before or since. we were watching davy crockett. original wrinkle in time. shit like that. apparently frog 1987 too. GODDAMN.

the only lasting memory i had from this was the song "that's amore" and an italian restaurant and the scene with the two main characters kissing a bunch of frogs in a pond. this is the only reason i know this song btw.

this film is so cute. so much hate for this kid, HE IS LITERALLY JUST AUTISTIC 😭 GIVE HIM A BREAK!! also ginger character with glasses... just like me fr. these grown adult scientists tearing into this middle school kid for "faking data" when he literally provided evidence he didn't... ok??? shelley duvall is just lovely in this as well. she is such a brilliant light in everything she's in. I LOVE FROG 1987 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A made for tv movie from the 80s that I would've never seen if my grandma didn't have it on vhs. It's a silly take on the classic princess and the frog story. But on a deeper level I think it does a great job of highlighting the challenges and gifts that come from being true to youself and loving people, for who they are. 💁‍♀️ Its very silly and i love it.
