“What kind of world is this?”
I can’t believe that the U.S. government would sanction goon squads to murder people they consider to be political dissenters with impunity while conservative citizens bury their heads in the sand.

I had watched the start of the film in my seminars as a study of the opening scene and I didn’t even remember.
The movie could have worked in so many ways better but the execution was poorly done. It didn’t make me feel nothing even though I relate to this.
Good script+greek director=meh
But at least the message is clear. Americans suck.

I believe Jack Lemmon has been one of the best actors of the whole short lifetime of the film industry.

feels ahead of it’s time in the sense that this could or would never be made today because of how explicit it is laying out that the u.s. backed the coup
many more thoughts but tldr this one is gonna stick w me for a while
