Mariko is living the life of a typical Japanese college student in the 70's, spending far more of her time balancing boyfriends and part-time jobs than on her schoolwork. She finds herself torn between a former boyfriend who's the tough, insensitive-but-sexy, type, and a new acquaintance who's more sensitive to her feelings, but who still acts childishly selfish at times. Will she choose one of them, or decide to go her own way?

No More Easy Life
its one of those movies when the title did justice to the movie.

a slice-of-life that captured a life as a middle class young adult woman with lots of struggles. it portrayed the life of a middle class perfectly, the part where she had to work part-time in a salon to keep a roof above her head, the part where she was struggling to keep up between education and work, the part where she tried to keep her sanity by going out with another guy only for her ex to came back to her, everything about this movie is damn well relatable but not that bit about ex came back tho. its been a long time since the last time i watched a drama that are so well written, i thought it was a documentary.

the scoring also did justice to the movie, it fits perfectly to the life that Mariko lived. couldve been better with a black and white color tone but i wont complain.

also, sending all love to all young adults and adults, especially lower and middle class who has been struggling left and right just to make ends meet while also maintaining all the bullshit work, love, and family stuff balance, keep your head up♥️
