This has no reason being this good tbh . My boy Noé really got his footing with this one— before dropping one of the greatest pieces of media of the 21 Century right after . ( If I have to say it louder for those in the back I can , no issue )
Potentially Gaspar’s best writing thus far ??? ( haven’t seen Vortex ) something he usually doesn’t care to dial in & they typically improv a ton— plus writing falls almost borderline irrelevant when you lock yourself into a Noé experience .
The overload narration of a nihilistic protagonist’s internal monologue rambling forever isn’t for everybody … but that’s the shit I live for .
Peak sound design … I mean it’s a Noé , so that’s a given . The transition “ bang ! “ was fucking peak everytime .
Very disturbing , I imagine there might be a few who think it’s his #1 most disturbing . But it certainly remains #2 unless we include hypotheticals .
