A bunch of Bill Crystal bits interspaced between a confused and coked out plot that didn’t know how to start or end the movie

Afternoon. Home. Sheffield.
Streamed on Prime.
First Watch.
Such a solid, sturdy buddy-cop film which subverts and plays with the motifs and cliches of the genre in such funny and unexpected ways.
With a straight forward narrative, it’s Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines chemistry what makes it rock and roll. It would be hard to believe these guys didn’t retire from acting and open a bar in Florida after this film.
Loved the L-Train chase sequence, loved the whole final act. It’s just right up my street.
I was gonna say Shane Black probably owes a lot to this film, but he owes a lot to the genre (whilst I imagine defining it with his own finger prints in Lethal Weapon, which came out a year after this).
