Cabin Fever: Patient Zero
yikes! somehow this isn’t even the worst in its franchise..

i feel like i should’ve given it a lower score, but i just loved the practical effects in this film : majority of the cabin fever films aren’t particularly good, but the gore really makes up for it. this is my final film within the franchise and the completist inside me compelled me to finish this questionable series, the original cabin fever has definitely grown off me, but it’s easily the best and was one of the first horror films i’d watched. the sequel is terrible, but i weirdly liked it. it turns it silliness and grotesque imagery completely up : herpes, a disease blowjob. it’s not a good film, but i was entertained sooo.. i’m not even gonna mention the remake, because that is a soulless, cash grab that has no point in existing. now this was a weird case : and besides the remake, was probably the weakest entry. one of the biggest advantages of the cabin fever was it’s completely bizarre silly humour, unfortunately this had none of that. i feel it just takes itself too seriously, and feels out of place within the franchise. the story is convoluted af!! had no idea what was going on because it just tries to do too much, and the contrast between the first and second half felt so jarring. this series has no likeable characters, and this reinforces it. i kinda just.. wanted them all to die? this films just not camp enough, but the effects are truly great (the way her hand gets ripped off is so addictive)
