Great Tubi watch since the opening blends in with the ads and then you’re like oh wait.
Long wind up but I didn’t mind. Enjoyable character fluff and mortuary details. Like, I recognized the bottles and they’re talking about sherm and other “did the homework” stuff.
Look, it really tanks the FF stuff. It’s just the style. These new, expensive cameras are just immediately glitchy. Luckily, everyone is mic’d up and someone is running a switchboard to go between feeds. Pretty sure a certain easy effect wasn’t practical (a sacrifice for the location I imagine). Ok.
Does it remind you of Autopsy of Jane Doe? No, that would be Boss Baby vibes. There is some of a certain VHS segment in its DNA. The real thing that makes this a winner is that it seems like it crescendos into an ending and then keeps going. And when it gets going, it’s mean and nasty enough to get me grinning. After a long build up where I was expecting some spooky background gags, it was nice that this kicked into something more my speed.
It also gets to skip along with some convenient plot accelerators. Frankly, it’s just realistic that your dipshit handyman would be an encyclopedic true crime geek.
What is Dr. D’s Remedy?
