Set aside Gibson’s antics and the rough edges around cultural portrayal and historical accuracy and you’re left with a genuinely well crafted piece of action. Wildly impressive in its production and captivating through its full run time.

It wasn’t bad but man it’s long for no reason really, there’s not a ton that goes on for it to be over a two hour movie. I like the sacrifice scene, I thought that it was shot very well, cinematography at its finest, but other than that, it was just kinda there. Also one of the dead bodies blinked at me which I had to rewind and watch again to make sure I saw it right. It was good but not great. Kinda boring with some cool ideas weaved into it.
