This is actually so good. Okay so it's like an epic fantasy musical comedy drama romance.
First of all, the affects were fantastic. The scenes were shot beautifully and they are truly magical like the boatride. The storyline works quite amazing too. K.V. Reddy shows classical Indian culture through this film and it is astonishing. The set designs are truly amazing and the costumes are wonderful. While I am not a big fan of colourisation, I did like this rendition of it.
On the most important part for me, the performances. As Krishna, NTR Rao gives a wonderful performance. S.V. Ranga Rao's comedy is fantastic and Akkineni Nageswara Rao is also fabulous. But Savitri Garu steals the show, she is subtle and understated in the more romantic sequences but toward the end, her performance takes more of a comedic turn. Her comic timing is fantastic and her expressions are everything. Also anothe plus for the songs like "Ahhana Pelliyanta".
Fun Fact: Mayabazar was the highest grossing Telugu film released to that point.
