If you're into comic book movies, you should totally check this one out. Honestly, I feel like this animated flick doesn't get enough love. Everyone talks about the first BTAS movie, Mask of the Phantasm, but you hardly ever hear about Batman: Subzero. Mr. Freeze has always been one of my favorite Batman villains. He's a sympathetic and tragic character. He turned to the dark side because he’s willing to do anything to save the person he loves most—his wife. His desperation to save her makes him relatable, and I really love that about him.
That’s why I’m a big fan of this film! It focuses almost entirely on Mr. Freeze and his plan to save his sick wife. A lot of Batman stories don’t end happily, but this one was just perfect! Honestly, it got to me a little. Sure, he’s done some awful things, but deep down, he’s a good guy, and I think this movie really did him justice. It showed all his sides and gave him some closure.
Overall, it was an awesome animated movie! I thought it was really moving to let Mr. Freeze see his wife come back to life and realize that something he made actually worked the way it was supposed to. I also loved how Batman comforts Mr. Freeze at the end. Batman gets what it’s like to lose someone too, this whole encounter humanizes him even more.
"Nora was the only good thing in my life, and they took her from me. I don't care what I have to do to get her back". 😓
