A very chill hang-out movie, which is nothing I ever expected from a John Wayne/John Ford collaboration. Yes there’s a plot, but that mostly gets put on the back burner in favor of appreciating Hawaiian landscapes and culture

Personally I would've liked more Wayne and Marvin scenes since they were undoubtedly the best part of the movie. Also the main romance was slightly unbelievable in part due to to the 20 year age gap and in part to to Wayne just being Wayne. However it's a very summer ~vibes~ movies so it was a chill time and a good watch
