❝When the last vampire is extinct, who will mourn our passing? Will she? Will anyone? Can anyone understand this pain, this loneliness?❞

Wow. The difference between this and the first film is like night and day, and I can confidently say that Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is one of the best vampire films I've seen.
The big improvement is in the animation. Of course, the second film was released 15 years later, so there were advancements in the industry, but in my opinion the animation style perfectly fits the Vampire Hunter D universe. The entire fillm had me in awe because the visuals were absolutely stunning, and the character designs were so cool. I loved the fight sequences, although I would recommend skipping them if you have epilepsy or any conditions that could be triggered by flashing lights. The voice-acting was miles better and the story was actually cohesive. I really liked the soundtrack; it reminded me of Castlevania because there was a lot of chanting as well as a mix of classical and punk/rock music. The only issue I had was Carmilla's character: she was so cool but didn't have much screen-time at all. It would've been nice to maybe learn more about her and see her fighting skills in action.
Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust is an awesome film, and I will definitely be watching it again soon.
