I watched the restored version that’s over two and a half hours long and while I respect the films ambition, it was somewhat of a disappointment.
It honestly didn’t do much for me. Didn’t love the characters, the plot it too chopped up and episodical to develop real tension or to draw you in completely and the action isn’t that great either. None of that is particularly bad, it’s just not great. The last like 20 minutes are pretty fantastic, but all in all I expected this to be so much better.
