Gritty and explosive, The Way of the Gun starts off pretty strong, but unfortunately loses steam by the halfway mark. It's carried by the performances of Ryan Phillippe and Benicio del Toro, who deliver both awesome action and some comedic lines which help to offset tension. I can't say that the film kept me fully engaged, especially towards the end which culminated in a shoot-out that almost made me go deaf; the script on the whole wasn't great, either. Overall, this film certainly has potential, but sadly it's never reached.

Pretty good movie, the duo is very good. Little long tho. The action is also pretty good. The cinematography is also good.

y'a un ptit truc qui me gêne avec le dialogue, la scène d'action, l'intrigue, les relations entre les persos...
on dirait un travail de groupe où chacun découvre ce que l'autre a fait pendant l'exposé.

A great action movie, and a brutal one at that. The entire movie is sort of about grit, self-defence, and endurance. All of the main characters are fighting for their lives, loved ones, goals without rest and giving it their all. It creates a very tense, but "whatever happens, its okay" atmosphere, that is great, because there is not a clear evil or good in this movie. One of the greats
