I think the idea of a male substance or helter skelter or whatever is interesting but this thing had too much of a “these damn kids” way about it that it felt like borderline caricature 
The acting was genuinely strong on account of solid casting and some of the shots were neat
But it’s simultaneously too self-serious and also not serious enough
