The first time I saw this film I was on mushrooms and smoking joints with a few friends, viewing it projected on a large wall in a backyard in San Francisco. That was much better than as background music at work. I suggest the former for your first viewing.

I'm trying to fill some of my blindspots when it comes to movies, and black cinema is definitely lacking for me. This desperately makes me want to do a deep dive on Sun Ra and everything about him, especially his music and philosophy. The jazz was out of this world, something I've never heard before, and it was the perfect backing to the movie.

Very surreal and something you experience moreso than watch. It quick, easy watch i think everyone should throw on at least once.
